Overview

Much like last year, the local primary students will not only have the opportunity to recycle their outdated phone books but also have the chance to win cash prizes for their respective school as a result of these collection efforts. We were very pleased with the student’s dedication during last year’s competition and we hope that they will continue to give a helping hand this year.

The Yellow2Green school challenge will take place from November 15th - December 3rd. Participating schools will need to designate a Yellow2Green Challenge Coordinator to be the official liaison with the Cayman Islands Yellow Pages.

Prizes:

Everyone who participates, and brings in an old directory, will get a small prize for taking part. In addition to that, Cayman Islands Yellow Pages will award class prizes and valuable Grand Prizes - Cash Prizes - to the overall top three schools that collect the most directories (winners will be based on a ratio of total books received by students enrolled).

Participation Prizes:
Each student who participates in the challenge, and brings in an old directory, will receive a small gift, just for taking part.

School Prizes:
The class (from each participating school) who collects the most directories for their school will be awarded a class Subway Party, compliments of Subway and Cayman Islands Yellow Pages.

Individual Prize:
Based on the feedback we received from the teachers, after last year programme, we decided to include an additional prize for the student (one student per school) that brings the most outdated directories. The Challenge Coordinator will be in charge of letting us know, in their report, the number of directories brought into the school and the name of the student. It is important to mention that the student must be part of the primary school. The prize will be a gift certificate compliments of Books & Books.

Grand Prizes:
In addition to the above, Cayman Islands Yellow Pages will award valuable cash prizes to the top three schools in Grand Cayman for overall performance.

First Place: CI$1,500
Second Place: CI$1,000
Third Place: CI$700

Grand prize payments will be made payable to the winning schools - to spend on materials or equipment as they see fit.

If your primary school is interested in participating in the Yellow2Green challenge please designate a Challenge Coordinator and have them contact Eileen Keens, Marketing Manager for Global Directories at 814-1798 or email: ekeens@globaldirectories.com to confirm your participation.
